This is a three-day (3 hours per class) beginning quilting class.

When: Saturdays, July 12, 26, Aug 2. 1-4PM

You’ll learn the following:

• Threading a sewing machine and bobbin.

• Learn about quilting fabric and what to look for. 

• We’ll discuss pre-washing or using fabric without pre-washing.

• How to rotary cut your fabric.

• How to press your fabric and press seams.

• The versatile nine patch quilt block, how one block can be arranged into so many different looks. This is a great block to start with.

• We’ll start cutting our fabric in Class one and possibly start sewing.

• You’ll see examples of how a nine-patch quilt block can be altered by color or cut and how it can be arranged into a quilt for completely different looks.

• Sewing your blocks together. 

• Making a binding and adding to the quilt. Preparing quilt for quilting.

*Please note:

• If you don’t think you’ll be able to finish a table runner in class then we’ll focus on the same techniques for a few placemats.  Some people work faster than others so we’ll focus on each person's individual journey and skill level.

• There are no make-up days for any missed class.

Skill-level beginner friendly. Having used a sewing machine is helpful but not required.

Supply List- Will be provided upon sign up.  

Takeaway: You’ll leave with a finished table runner (or you can finish each block separately for placemats) or several blocks that you can make into a quilt, and ideas for other nine patch blocks. While no prior sewing experience is required, having a sewing machine available at home will enable you to make extra blocks to create a larger quilt.

If you are unable to attend the class, a refund will only be provided if you notify us 72 hours in advance in writing by email and there is a waitlist for the class, and we are able to fill your spot. Otherwise, a credit for a future class will be issued.
